Easy Laxmi Puja Vidhi
Performing a simple puja:
- Create a Swastika with red kumkum paste at the entrance of your home, on the main door from outside.
- Hang a flower garland above the door and decorate the entrance with rangoli.
- Place the idols of Mata Laxmi and Lord Ganesha on a thali. Ganesha should be placed on the right-hand side and Laxmi ji on the left-hand side on a bajot (altar).
- Light a ghee lamp and some incense sticks (agarbatti).
Recite the following mantras:
- Aum Madhavay Namah
- Aum Keshvaya Namah
- Aum Narayana Namah
Wash your hands and recite:
- Aum Govindaya Namah
Light a ghee lamp and some agarbatti using the mantra:
- Aum Shree Ganesha Namah
- Aum Shree Maha Lakshmayai Namah
Offer the following items in a clean thali (plate):
- Paan (betel leaf), Kumkum, Sindoor, Abir, Gulaal, rice, flowers, Tulsi (holy basil), and Durva grass.
- Offer Prasad (sacred food), Paan Supari (betel nut), money, some pieces of gold, and coins. Ensure the gold and coins are washed in panchamrit (a mixture of milk, curd, ghee, honey, and sugar) before placing them before Maa Laxmi.
- Fill a kalash (pot) with water. Place a supari, coin, rice, flowers, Durva grass, and mango leaves inside while reciting Aum Varunaaya Namah.
Place the coconut over the top of Kalash & tie it next to the lamp.
